Mom Crates

Ok so I need some advice... I'm wondering if anyone has every heard of a "Mom Crate"? I know they have things called "Loot Crate", "Geek Fuel", "Nerd Block", and so on... What is a crate you might ask? Well it's the new things kids/young adults are really getting into these days. I'll include links to a few of my favorite crates in this post. I will say I'm a happy member of "Loot Crate" for $19.95 a month you receive a little box in the mail that contains all nerd items. In a crate you get a t-shirt, cool magnets, pins, some kind of pop culture art item, and something a person can normally wear. Sometimes I receive a few more extra things then what I listed. The value of the crate if you bought everything separate is about $60 so $19.95 isn't to bad. The reason the companies can sell the crates under price is they receive the items in bulk. I personally like to receive the crates each month because it's kind of like a Christmas present once a month for a whole year. The other reason is it's a way to bond with the boys in their likes and dislikes.

So here is the reason for my post: I want to come up with a crate that I maybe can market to college kids. In the crate it would have different items a month that would make college living a little easier and give them a little bit of joy one day a month. I know these are normally called "care" packages but there is a big population attending college that never receive a "care" package their whole time in college. I thought "Mom Crate" would be a cute name for the crate. Of course if the college didn't go over well I could change my focus on making a crate mom's would look forward to each month. I know they have a wine of the month clubs for mom so I might not have a big market with moms either. LoL

Right now I'm just kicking the idea around. I know with Tanner going to college in about 7 weeks the "care" package idea is on my mind a lot.

Derrick in Chicago....

Well Derrick made it to Chicago to compete in FBLA. I'm so proud of him and wish him all the luck in the world. He said that he is loving it there and it's not as intimidating as he thought it would be. By the time Derrick graduates he will of made 6 trips to compete in nationals for DECA and FBLA. He is thinking about joining the Skills club at school that make robots compete this coming year. if he does that then he will add 2 more trips to his 6 for national competitions. I'm very proud that he is breaking out of his shell and getting so involved in school. I really look forward to seeing his awards come his senior year.

So happy the garage sale is over....

Well folks the FBLA garage sale is over with. Thank you to my mom and Aunt Kay for all the donations of stuff. The kids almost made all the money they needed. Derrick only owes $20 for the trip. So all we have to come up with is his food money and souvenir money. We are all looking forward to the week after the 4th of July due to we will have 2 weeks were we have nothing going on. Thank you again for all your help and for those of you that came and shopped at the sale.
